About the Author

Mr. Riley grew up on a steady diet of treehouses and sand castles.  As a kid, he never realized the power of writing.  He would always chew on his pencil instead of his ideas.  It wasn’t until much later that he became a self-confessed write-a-holic, and now he can’t imagine his life without it.  When he’s not busy clacking away at the keyboard, you can find him playing Polly Pockets (with his two daughters, of course), marching in parades with his bagpipes, and searching for the perfect ice cream flavor.  He tells his friends that some day they may see his name on the cover of a nonfiction book about spies, but for now, he’s content exploring new ideas for his readers on his blog.  Mr. Riley currently lives in Singapore with his wife and kids but often feels his New England roots tugging at him, especially during the winter months.

  1. HI Mr. Riley! Rohini here. Is this a new about the author or is this the one you had last year? I'm missing 6th grade already. I love the way you have written about yourself here. The line "he would always chew on his pencil instead of ideas," was really cool for lack of better word. I hope you have a great year and will visit you soon!
